Is Keto Right for You?

Is Keto Right for You?

As much as I would like to say, anyone can do keto. That is not true. The keto diet requires you to make drastic changes to your diet.

Do not join in the keto diet if you have any problems with your kidneys, liver, thyroids, or pancreas. Always consult with a doctor if you have any doubts or questions.

I am not a doctor and can’t give you medical advice. I can only tell you what I know, from experience and research.

I encourage you to talk to your doctor. Discuss some of the key factors in the keto diet with them. For example, removing sugar from your diet, lowering your carbohydrates, and consuming high proteins.

As I have said many times already, you don’t need to do strict keto to see results. Figure out what will work for you. Make small changes at a time.

Unfortunately, yes, there is such thing as the keto flu. It can happen when you first start the keto diet. Like the normal flu, I suppose, but not nearly as severe.

However, it is nothing to be alarmed about. I went through it when I first started keto. To me, it is a sign that what you’re doing, is working.

I think it was around my third or fourth day. I had a headache and my body ached. It wasn’t anything terrible.

Have you ever stopped drinking caffeine, and gotten a headache? It is pretty much the same thing. Your body is adjusting to the lack of caffeine, sugar, or carbs.

When your body enters the ketosis stage, you start burning ketones from your fat, rather than from glucose (from carbohydrates). This drastic change can be a shock to the body.

Again, it doesn’t happen to everyone. Some symptoms could be more severe than others, or you may not experience any at all. Also, it shouldn’t last more than a day or two.

  • Headache
  • Body aches
  • Muscle aches
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach cramps
  • Dizziness
  • Food Cravings

After you get through the first week, not only does it get easier, but you will feel great. The energy levels are noticeable first. I have never felt as good in my life as I did after doing keto.

So, Talk to your doctor. Find out if Keto is right for you, and do not be afraid of the Keto Flu. You can do this!
